What we process

When you request an explanation, we process your selected text, limited surrounding context, the page title and URL, and relevant document details. Follow-ups may also include your question and the previous answer. Selecting text starts a request automatically while explanations are enabled.

This information is sent to our backend and an AI service to generate the answer. ClickNote does not save selected text, questions, context, or answers in its application database. Visiting a page alone does not send its text for an explanation.

What stays on your device

Preferences, sign-in information, cached usage, and limited reading progress are stored in your browser. Reading progress can include the page URL, headings, and scroll position.

PDFs are displayed locally and complete files are never uploaded to ClickNote. Only selected text and limited context are sent when an explanation is requested.

Accounts and usage

We retain account details such as your identifier, email, and name when provided, plus preview usage, explanation counts, feedback ratings, and subscription records. Guest preview usage may be linked to your account when you sign in.

We use these records to provide the service, manage accounts and payments, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. Security information may include a protected network identifier and standard connection logs. Payments are handled by a payment provider; ClickNote does not receive full card numbers or bank credentials.

Service providers

We use providers for AI processing, authentication, hosting, database storage, and payments. They receive information needed for those functions and may process it outside your country. Their own processing and retention terms apply. Sign-in and checkout services may use necessary cookies or similar storage.

We do not sell personal information, build advertising profiles, or share information for unrelated purposes.

Your choices and deletion

You can pause explanations, restrict website access in Chrome, or uninstall the extension to remove its local data. Uninstalling does not delete account records or cancel a subscription.

Account and usage records are kept to operate and protect the service. To request access, correction, or deletion, email support@clicknote.space. We may verify your request and retain records required for security, payments, or legal obligations.
